This project looks at the historical and cultural context of the potato and its aesthetics. My work aims to enhance the value of this plant, which in the West, was ignored for centuries. Only by the beginning of industrialisation and its following raise of population it became appreciated by society. To show this value in a graphic way, I created a folding poster that reflects the attributes, the roughness and the smoothness, of the potato. The colors are deliberately bright, as they should embody a certain quality, such as a royal crown.
